This
page contains information about the progress on the
NSF MRI project at the Department of Computer Science, University of
Houston. The grant, titled
Acquisition of a Hybrid System and
Research Infrastructure for Large-Scale Integration of Biomedical Data,
is the largest instrumentation grant ever awarded to the University of
Houston by the NSF. The project's PI Dr. Zouridakis is joined on the
project by Profs. Marc Garbey, Ioannis Kakadiaris, Ioannis Pavlidis,
and Ricardo Vilalta, all Computer Science faculty. Preliminary data for
this grant were obtained thanks to a highly competitive grant on
Computational Data Grids for Scientific and Biomedical Applications
that was funded last year by Microsoft.
